Change of Plan

sunny southsea seafront beachSun!
I met up with Ben and the JBs. We gathered at the beach and our 3 cars parked (independently) in a little row like last year. Unbeknownst to us, Popsmum later parked right in front of us.
There started one of the longest days we'd ever had.
We had our plans. These included, but were not restricted to: Lego, Spy Attack, Football, Fighting them on the Beaches, Southsea Skate Park, Food with added ice cream, Fun, and exasperating our poor Mummies.
We got a lot of what we wanted but every time we stayed on at the beach, it meant we weren't getting Football. When they went into the sea, I wanted to as well, but didn't have a swimming costume.

So we changed plans and shifted allegiances and were indecisive, but very very sure that we were being conned out of our birthrights and being stymied at every turn by meanie old parents.

We trudged the long way back to the cars on our own, and waited for the parents to catch up.

We can keep this up all day and I suspect we all had sunstroke or sunlick or maybe just suncosset but who's to care when you get chips and had such a spankingly good day.
We aired our grievances constantly and creatively, one day we may realise in retrospect just how good our lives are, and how many years we shaved off our parent's lives with stress, leading to early cardiac events. Some Mummies tried to offset this with Prosecco but it can only go so far. I have been ordered to consume at least 3 pints of milk or yogurt per day to attempt to take advantage of all that sunlight, vitamin D and potential bone growth.
